FIRST

Can't believe it's been a month already! We had a lovely night on the 26th celebrating our first month together ;)

My wedding 26/09/09

I've been ignoring my blog since I've gotten married. Been so busy with the wedding and the honeymoon and also moving to Melbourne. Yes, I'm in Melbourne already for more than a week. Life as a non-working housewife is so boring! Nevertheless, I shall try to be a good housewife ehehe. Anyways, this entry will be about the details of my lovely lovely wedding on the 26/09/09. My nikah started at 10.30am on Saturday and the reception was around 8.30pm. Me & my husband couldn't really remember what went on that day. The day passed us so fast, I'm still waiting for my pictures and videos so that I can remember what actually happened! ehhe
Syukur Alhamdulillah, after more than 6 months planning for it, my wedding went real smooth & the best part was everyone enjoyed themselves ;)

By the way, I had my tea ceremony done on the 25th, Friday since I'm half chinese and my aunties insisted on having it. No harm were caused as the couple will only receive jewelries & lots & lots of angpow's. But, before the bridegroom can enter the house, the bride's girlfriends or 'jie mui' will usually come out with a few games to test the groom. My sister's friends played 4 games. Fahmi kena mkn 4 flavors that is manis, masam, masin, pedas ehhehe. Kena minum 4 flavors juga, then kena nyanyi (which he gladly passed it to Najwa, lovely voice though) & kena cerita the story how he proposed ehehe.
If you don't know about the chinese tea ceremony, i'll explain more.
According to Wikipedia,
In the traditional Chinese marriage ceremony, both the bride and groom kneel in front of their parents and serve them tea. That is a way to express their gratitude. The parents will usually drink a small portion of the tea and then give them a red envelope, which symbolizes good luck.

You start by offering the tea to the oldest person in the family, which in my case my 'gong gong' or grandfather. Then dah habis bagi minum tea, it was my turn to give angpow's to budak2 younger than me.

So many things to write and so many pictures to show (i'm still waiting for the official wedding pictures). Since I'm married now, i need to cook for my husband before he comes home ehehhe. That's all for now, i'll shall continue posting more pictures later on. I'm glad all of my friend's who came to my wedding enjoyed it as much as I did! Thanks you all ;)
Oh, and special mention to Nini (my brother's friend) who did such an amazing job on my hantaran, bunga pahar & bunga telur!! and also cherish flowers who literally saved my wedding!! Heidi did such an amazing job in decorating flowers for my reception!!!

p/s: I would NOT recommend to anyone & everyone in Ipoh to take D'Aida Bridal as your pelamin decorator, well if you pilih je apa yg ada dlm photoalbum dia ok. but NOT if you want something BIG & EXTRAVAGANT! i had a TERRIBLE & MISERABLE experience with them both nikah & reception. a day before my event, diaorg boleh tutup phone & buat tak tau jer. next time jgn cakap besar if you can't do it! pastu dah sound, tolak salah pada pekerja..so typical malay la! i still tak puas hati sampai sekarang!
