Itadakimasu = Let's eat

How was your weekend? Had fun? I certainly did hehe. We did something really crazy and impulsive, we're having a critical financial crisis ;p

Anyhow, it was the weekend and it's my husband's turn to cook. So he did a Japanese meal.
Mixed meat teppanyaki with creamy sauce, garlic butter fried rice (I ended up cooking it), and miso soup. It was 'Oishii = Delicious' (in Japanese).

Here are the recipes and some pictures for you to salivate.

Garlic Butter Fried Rice

Ingredients

1 cup cooked overnight, if not just cook the rice earlier the same day

5-6 cloves garlic, sliced or chopped

2 egg

1-2 tbsp (1-2 oz.) butter (in my case lots of butter)

spring onion

salt

pepper

Method

Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium high heat. Beat egg lightly and scramble. Set aside.

In the same pan, throw in butter and garlic. Stir.

Add rice, salt, pepper and egg. Keep stirring, breaking up the rice in the pan.

Serve hot, topped with crispy garlic chips.

On the way..

I had a very tiring weekend! While I was on the way for my groceries shopping last Saturday, I managed to snap some pics of the Election. Australians went to vote last Saturday & the result is a Hung Parliament. This hasn't happened since the WW2. Both parties Labor & Liberal are tied. So now both leaders are making deals with the independent MPs. Will be interesting to see who'll win and become the new ozzie PM. Here are some pics I took at my area polling station. It was at a church.

Then when I was on the way to switch trams, I found this cute busker.

Finally when I was on my way home, we both bought some sneakers from Foot Locker. It was a good deal 2 for $150. If you're in Australia, you should checked out the deal.

Ohh, and I bought this Iphone cover case from Havaianas. It's sooo cuteee!!

A fishy Birthday Affair

This fishy affair was to celebrate my sis-in law birthday yesterday night. She turned 24, big girl already hehe. It was a cold rainy day and an hour late for Iftaar and the whole dinner took around 2 1/2 hours to finish. I'm not complaining since the food was ok and we had a good time.

The venue was at the Fish Seafood Grill Restaurant in Docklands.

Fyi, All the restaurants in Docklands have this special deal on Tuesday either lunch or dinner. You get 50% off. If you're a Rivers Platinum Card Member (membership is free) you get 10% everyday at all Restaurants. Here is the website :

All of us had the Rotisserie Special in which you can choose to have 2 courses (share plate +main) for $37.50 or 3 courses (share plate + main + dessert) for $43.90. This special is available Monday to Thursday for Dinner. Please inform the waiter if you're going to have this or else they will charge you separately for each plate.

The food in overall was nice, just that they served all plates together (they were 5 of us) so the food is a bit cold by the time they reach. Service was ok, they really need to hire more staffs. Just 3 waiters for a big restaurant and they show what's happening in the kitchen at the tv screen..this isn't masterchef, chop chop! haha. The Rotisserie Special is worth the money, I would recommend it for anyone to try.

Here are some pics from the dinner.

Salt and pepper calamari with tomato, eggplant and lime compote

Sizzling pot of prawns & seafood in a light garlic tomato broth

Oysters Natural with three dipping sauces

North Queensland saltwater barramundi

Baked blueberry cheesecake with double cream and fresh fruit coulis

Sudah Seminggu Berpuasa..

Sudah seminggu berpuasa, cepat rasanya masa berlalu. Ramadhan ini pertama kali berpuasa bersama suami. Berdua bila bersahur dan berdua jugak bila berbuka. Dulu masa belajar berbuka dgn adik & kakak, kat Ipoh bersama whole family. I miss my family ;(

Not a very smart move listening to Raya songs in the morning! Now I'm feeling sooooo homesick that I want to go home tomorrow! This year Aidilfitri is a new adventure to me. I'll be celebrating with husband's family. Quite scary, don't know what to expect. Ye la, family org lain caranya kan. Jgn mak mertua suruh masak utk raya sudah hehe mana reti nak buat rendang ketupat semua, makan boleh la (habis laki i baca nanti haha)

I still remember this time last year, I was preparing for my wedding. Kalau boleh jgn la kahwin masa raya, leceh betul. Not only you need to fast (actually puasa is ok you can lose more weight before your wedding) then you need to organise everything plus you have to celebrate raya too.
Mana nak sempat beraya camtu? Tak boleh makan all out kang tak muat baju kan, pastu budget baju raya takde..ye la dah guna duit utk kahwin, then tak sempat nak beraya rumah kawan!!

My cabaran masa puasa last year was too much, I remember I cried after sahur, marah2..stress giler2 with my preparations.I was also sick during puasa, tak lalu nak makan masa berbuka.. I lost 4kg (not that I mind hehe). But alhamdulillah, everything went well..dah nak setahun pun kahwin.

Byk pulak i merapu pagi2 ni, this post was just meant for me to post pic of what I cook for berbuka. Penat jugak everyday masak, tapi nak buat camne. Sini bukan Malaysia ada bazaar Ramadhan, rindunya ayam percik dan kuayteow goreng kat Stadium Ipoh ;(

Honeymooning in Bali

I've just noticed that I haven't blog about my honeymoon. Since there's 38 more days to my 1st anniversary, I shall reminisce the aww-so sweet time I had during my honeymoon ;)

I went for my honeymoon a few days after I finished with my wedding (7th Oct-11 Oct). Bought my flight tickets during promo period hehe. My sister paid for my accomodation as a wedding present (thank you miss) and all I had to do was just to pick a place to stay.

So, there I was while preparing for my wedding, had to search where to go for my honeymoon..was so much fun looking at all nice honeymoon destinations. Since me & my husband had to travel back to Melbourne not long after the honeymoon, I decided not to travel far for the honeymoon.

I chosed to go to..

BALI!!! (If you've been to Bali, I'm sure this statue is the first thing you'll snap! ehehe)
I know Bali is so common for honeymooners but we both never been to Bali and it's near from KL.

I've booked a One bedroom pool villa for Dreamy Honeymoon Package at this private villa called The Elysian. It's located at Seminyak area, next door to KuDeTa. The way in to the villa is a tiny one way road. Don't know how the drivers drive through this small road!

From the moment we step off the airport, a staff was there to pick us up (included in the package). What a way to start our honeymoon. Bali at that time was really hot, hotter than Malaysia, I had pimples all over my face during my stay arrrghh!!

When we arrived at the villa, we were greeted with a drink and I got a bouquet of flower full with ants in it hehe. Then we were ushered to our room. The place is small but it was beautiful!
We got room no 26, it was quite far from other rooms, good for honeymooners hehe.

The first thing I did after settling in was, going online!! chatting with my family and showing them my villa haha. Jealous kan? hehe

Here are some of my private villa pictures by my photographer husband:

So many pictures to show hehe the room, the atmosphere and everything was wonderful except our first night there, our aircond went kapoot! We had aircond problem at all our hotel rooms during my wedding in Ipoh, Muar and now Bali. Had to use the fan for the night (the room was quite cool btw), so the next day we moved next door to no 25 and thank god the room was ok until we checked out.

The honeymoon package incudes daily breakfast in your villa if you want to, a special lunch and dinner as well as a spa for the couple. Oh boy, how ashamed were we when we went for the massage. Stripped down to only disposable panties (so malu!!) and finished off with a bath at the tub for the couple haha.

So I'm going to let these pictures do the talking now.

Jimbaran Bay
Tanah Lot
Cafe Bali served Halal food (hard to find Halal place in Seminyak so we ate here twice)
Kuta Square
Kuta Beach

My honeymoon was so memorable, the sweetest time I ever experienced and something worth to remember for life ;)

If you're going for your honeymoon, please choose a place that you know both of you will enjoy and have the sweetest time ;)

Also, bring more money..just in case you go overbudget like us and always print out the currency difference so you can refer to it when buying something.

New season of EPL

Ahhh, the new season of the English Premier League has finally started. There's football matches to watch, damn I miss my cable..normal free tv don't show any games except the Champions League matches.

Manchester United started the season by winning the Community Shield against Chealsea 3-1 with our 'Chicharito' scoring a memorable debut goal using his face hehe.

This morning our first game was against Newcastle United and we won by 3-0 with goals from Berbatov, Fletcher & Giggs. A good start for this season. Come on you reds, let's snatch the tittle from Chealsea and get our 19th!!! Ryan Giggs scored again, legend!!

Katy Perry Live @ Sunrise

As I've mentioned in my earlier post (I'll never be the same again, If we ever meet again 'Katy Perry') I've got 2 free passes for Katy Perry's live showcase for Australia's Channel 7 Sunrise Show.

So on Friday the 13th (didn't realize it was friday the 13th ehehe) at 6.30am, me & my dear hubby (thank you for waking u so early for me) went to the Plaza Ballroom. The ballroom was just next to Chanel store, too easy to find haha

We reached there by 7am and thank god there wasn't a queue at all.

so early, 7am!!

The crowd I think was more than 500 people but less than 1000. There were a few kids wearing school uniform, probably going school a bit late hehe.

Katy Perry was due on stage at 7.40am, so we watched the Sunrise show and took a lot of the presenters pictures. Mel & Kochie are really TALL.

She will be singing 3 songs which are California Girls, Teenage Dream & Hot n Cold. The set was cute, there were candy cane, lollipop, gingerbread man like in the California Girls video.

picture quality quite bad
(iphone4 pic quality not so good,
but the video is quality HD)

adui the pics is really small, sorry & plus the lighting was too bright!!

this is during her interview

She had a concert the night before at this same venue, so I think she only slept for a bit. Despite that, she sang wonderfully..just a bit sumbang ehehe. What she wore? A really tight rubber dress with kangaroos motive and a blue wig! Don't get her dressing but what amaze me was her flawless skin. So cantikk and so gebu!!

After her final song, she went down to the crowd and signed, hugged took photos with her fans. Some even flown from other states(flight expenses on your own ok) and some waited from 3am! Around 8.30am we left as my dear husband needed to go to work, he safely arrived at 9am (work starts at 8.30am haha).

So I, left alone in the city decided to go to David Jones as they had an opening ceremony of their newly renovated department store. Megan Gale, an ozzie model..a very tall one indeed is the ambassador for DJ officiate it. I managed to get her picture and there was a moment she was next to me and said hi, haha.

Was sooooooo tired by 10am, I think if someone pushed me I'll probably fall down and sleep.

Here are some links for the Katy Perry's show if you want to watch:

** due to the really bright lighting of the set, you can't really see her, she's too bright, don't have a camera sorry.
