Pacman Wins!!

It was my first time watching boxing at a bar with my husband. So exciting! I know boxing is really violent, but watching Manny's fight is so exciting!
Yesterday was Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito fight. We decided to go down to Melbourne Central Lion Hotel to watch. Arrived around 2 something, the fight started at 4pm. There were a lot of pinoys who came, wrong bar for mexicans ehhe.

Fight lasted for 12 rounds, pure punching pow pow pow from Manny. Margarito was like a punching bag for Manny, getting hit every so often. His eyes were so swollen, it was really bad.
Manny won the World Super Welterweight Championship title, his 8th division title.

Now bring it on, floyd 'pretty boy' mayweather!!

Kbox Karaoke @ La Trobe

I was really really bored yesterday, suddenly craving to sing my heart out. So I searched for Karaoke place and found one called : Kbox

It's an Asian type of Karaoke that has English, Japanese, Malay & a bit of Korean songs. Just like what Wayne Rooney said on the website, 'This place is simply amazing' hahaha.
The place is real easy to find, you need to walk up from melb central. Since it was the weekend, they have minimum charge for 3 people, since there's only 2 of us we still paid for 3.
They work like this: 2pm-7pm - $18 per person sing for 5 hours & inclusive 2 drinks. I thought it was really cheap! Night time starts from 8pm-Late & it's $10 per hour.

The room size is pretty decent can fit a lot of ppl but the room is not sound proof, so you can listen to others singing hehehe. The songs lists are extensive, lots of new songs and they add new songs every month. Don't think 5 hours is enough to sing all the songs hehe.
I was so surprised to find a lot of nice/new Korean songs and I picked almost 20 songs ( i think i sang only Korean songs for an hour!).

My husband on the other hand, picked so many love songs ( so jiwang haha) and rap songs. Mula2 malu malu kucing, sekali lagu start haaaa itu dia bakat terpendam gitu! haha

I've enjoyed the 5 hours of singing! No wonder Melbourne hujan the whole day wakaka.
If you live in Melb and feel like karaoke-ing, give this place a try. I can't wait to sing again!!

Mixed Feeling Day

My day started really early today. I was woken up by a phone call by my brother at around 4am. He told me my uncle (my aunty's husband) has passed away. I was really shocked hearing the sad news. My condolences go to them especially to my closest twin cousins ;(

I couldn't sleep for an hour and I got up around 6.30am and took a shower. I actually have a job interview today at 9am. I don't really know how and what to feel going to the interview. Anyways it was a group interview with activities. Felt so drained after being questioned by 5 interviewers asking similar questions. Anyways, it was an enjoyable experience even if I don't get the job, herm just got the call, didn't get it because the stores i wanted to work at has limited openings.hermmmmm.....

Finished the interview by 11am, decided to go redeem my Mini Cupcakes by The Little Cupcakes at Degraves St since I bought a voucher from www.cudo.com.au. It's a dozen (12 pieces) mini cupcakes sold for $9, usual price is $24 ($2 each). I bought a voucher for my friend too hehe

Look how messy my cupcakes were and the toppings actually melted a bit, it's a really hot day!!

Daiso

It was a public holiday here in Melbourne yesterday for the Melbourne cup (horse racing). Only Victoria gets this pleasure, I see it as another excuse for partying and getting drunk hehe.

Anyway, I decided to go and have a look at Daiso since it's just opened in Victoria St. Here is the website for those who don't know what Daiso is: Daiso Australia
Daiso sells everything that you could think of at a real cheap price, AUD2.80 for everything!
Please don't hold high expectations for something that cost $2.80 hehe.

When I arrived at the place, I was surprised that there was a long queue just to get in! The place isn't that big. So I waited around 15-20 mins, was quite hard to move around as there were a lot of people.

this what is bought, only $16.

There was this shop next to Daiso called Chicken Feed. bad mistake to be located next door hehe

So if you're broke but still want to shop, go to Daiso and have a look. I didn't see anyone left without buying anything haha

On a rainy day..

I went berserk with my husband trying to find a cafe called 'Le Cirque'.
It was raining heavily on Saturday, so heavy that my sneaker got so wet!
I knew it was going to rain on Sat, just didn't expect it to rain the whole day!
We bought these vouchers from Zoupon for $14 worth of $30 food & also i wanted to watch Social Network since i bought cheap tix from Scoopon (only $9.95 for the usual $20 of extreme screen!!).

There we were, trying to find the place..going round and round. The website plus google map were so misleading! it gave the wrong direction!!! we felt so stupid walking up and down in the rain ;(
The cafe is actually inside Harbour Town!! DUHHHH!!

So after swearing for a moment, we found the place and ordered our food. Thank godness the food was okay or else there'll be more swearing ;)

Here are pictures of Le Cirque:

Half price deal

If you're in Australia, have you heard numerous half price deal websites like Zoupon, Scoopon, Cudo? and if you're in Malaysia have you heard of MYDEAL.com.my?

These websites have one thing in common: that is they offer awesome deals, discounted prices for great food, drink, massages, beauty services, concerts..basically anything.
The deal needs minimum of 10 purchases, then only the deal will be ON. Your credit card will only be charge once the deal is on and finished. So far I've bought food deals at awesome prices!
I paid $18 (but zoupon only charged me $9 since it was my first purchase i think) for $45 worth of food! you only have to print out the voucher and show it to the shop. You can buy it as a gift too!

Yesterday's deal (there's still 2 hours before it ends) from Scoopon.com.au, just $9.95 for a Hoyts Adult movie ticket! Usual movie ticket is $17.50 (so expensive unless if you go on tuesday it's $11). I bought 4 tix ;)

So what you do is check the websites everyday for the daily deal. Mydeal has awesome deals too. might try it when i go back home. Now go browse ;)

Oreo Cheesecake

When I saw my friend Aimi made no bake cheesecake for her 1 year old baby birthday, I wanted to try too!
So I googled and found Philadelphia website. Easy recipe and I decided to make it with my hubby yesterday night.

This is the recipe copied from the website : Oreo Cheesecake

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup cream, lightly whipped
  • 1 cup crushed OREO Original Cookies
  • 100g OREO Chocolate Crème Cookies, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (i used vanilla essence instead)
  • 3 teaspoons gelatine, dissolved in 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 500g block PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 50g butter, melted
  • 50g OREO Chocolate Crème Cookies, extra, roughly chopped
Method:
  • Combine the crumbs and butter and press into a lined 20cm springform pan. Chill
  • Beat the PHILADELPHIA and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Fold in the gelatine mixture, lemon juice, cream and OREO Chocolate Creme Cookie crumbs.
  • Pour the filling into the prepared crust, refrigerate for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with extra OREOs and refrigerate for another for 2 hours or until set.
You have no excuse for not trying this. It's ok not to have a mixer, i beat the cream and sugar with hand, no problem. I didn't have gelatine in it but it's ok, just that gelatine set the cake.
Now, no reason for buying Secret Recipe's oreo cheesecake hehe

p/s: my not so good looking cake ;p

OMG!! I've got my tickets to Usher OMG Tour in Melbourne on 19 March 2011. It's 5 months away, I know. When I was in Perth, Usher never came for a concert. Now that I'm in Melb, he decided to include Perth ehehe. This is the link from Ticketek: Usher OMG Tour

Pre-sale is on yesterday till today at 4pm (AEST time). You have to be a member on Frontier Touring website in order to get a password to buy the tickets from Ticketek. I thought of getting my tickets on Monday (public sale starts on Monday) but my hero, that is my husband of course..bought it from Ticketek website. woohoooo!!

The tickets are really pricey, from $98.75 - $795!!! The most expensive ticket is the OMG Package:

Stella McCartney for Target Australia 2010

Saw the ad for Stella McCartney for Target Collection on tv in stores 29 October. She had a collection with Target in 2007 & I managed to get 1 lovely pink blouse.

The 2007 collection was nice, lots of nice blouse.I still remember a lot of ppl waited from morning to buy, it was chaos. Who wouldn't want to get a piece of Stella McCartney for a fraction of the original price, right?

The 2010 collection is more to work clothes, jackets and tailored pants. Black and white, hermm. Looked at the website for her new range and it's quite pricey! Don't think I can afford to buy any clothes, perhaps just the accessories ;(

Here's the link to the website.

i love this bangle.

Festival Malaysia 2010 in Melbourne

Went to Festival Malaysia yesterday in Southbank and boy was it scorching hot!!
So what is Festival Malaysia? From its website "This festival aims to create an event for individuals interested in engaging with Malaysia and Malaysian themes through culture, art and music".
It's really for the Ozzies to get to know Malaysia better but there were more Malaysian students who came hehe.

There were a lot of programmes throughout the day like traditional dances, traditional music and multiracial music & dances. There were food stalls selling Malaysian food like, Satay..laksa sarawak, keropok and of course Durian (selling for $7.50 for a few pieces)! But the only reason I went was to see Harith Iskandar's live show hehe. His really funny!

Hans Isaac was there too but he didn't perform. There's another event happening in Melbourne, Australian Malaysian Festival Film at ACMI Cinemas from 2nd-6th Oct 2010. There are a few Malaysian movies like Rabun, Niyang Rapik and there was an acting workshop with Hans Isaac yesterday.

Here are some pictures taken despite the hot weather hehe.

Here is a short video of Harith's show, he talked about how Malaysians are. How we act in cinemas, how Malaysians drive and his marriage.

My MANY failed attempts!!

I've been watching a korean drama series called Kim Tak Goo, it's about bakery and it makes you feel like buying buns and actually making u wanna try making buns also! ehehe.
Since I'm too lazy to go out and buy buns, I decided to make Roti Canai. First attempt failed as the dough was still sticky eventhough i rested it overnight haha.

Second attempt was better but it was still a bit sticky and I couldn't form the dough into small balls. However I decided to give it a try and fry the roti. Shape wise was ugly but the taste i tell you sedap! haha
I didn't take any pictures since it wasn't pretty ;p

Then I tried making Caramel Pudding, a simple recipe but yet I failed! ;(
My pudding didn't set so it was watery, but the taste is yummy. I used the wrong tray hehe.

So today's challenge is to make Pengat Pisang. Hopefully it will turn out fine, fingers crossed!!!

1st Anniversary

26-09-10, marking my 1st year wedding anniversary. Just a few million blinks and it's one year already. I had a great time celebrating the wonderful day with my husband eventhough it didn't go as smoothly as I wanted ;p

I gave my surprise the night before since someone couldn't wait to know hehe. This is what I gave (bought with his money hehe).

Camera Kit (includes a disposable camera & a book)

LOVE book

There were 2 items, one is Camera Kit (includes a disposable camera & a book) - the idea is to take picture with the camera & develope it & you stick the pictures to the book (i know so sweet kan haha). All items bought from Kikki K, they have nice stationery but very pricey.

Second item is a LOVE book. It's a book for you to express, confess & test your knowledge of your LOVE. In the book there are short questions like The first thing I noticed about you, A fond memory of our time together is... & you need to fill in the blanks and write an essay long answer if you want to.
There was one stupid question : One item of your clothing that belongs in the bin..? I don't get it!

Well, what I got in return was a card & a surprise delivery from The Fresh Flower Botak Man. A bouquet of red roses. My husband is too scared of buying me presents because he knows me too well. It's hard buying things for me. I might not like it, I won't use it if I dislike it hehe. So I'll settle with the flowers (for now la).
But he cooked me a good lunch.

Spaghetti Vongole

Later at night we had a lovely dinner in the city and ended the night early since there were Man Utd match & F1 hehe. What a wonderful day it was and I'm looking forward to more anniversaries in the future ;)
