Winter at Docklands

It's winter time and it's at Docklands! Some of you must be wondering what & where is Docklands. Here is some info from the website.

Melbourne Docklands is a unique waterfront development in the heart of Melbourne, located on the spectacular Victoria Harbour and three kilometres of Yarra River frontage.

With seven kilometres of waterfront promenades, urban art, stunning architecture, historic and contemporary buildings, state-of-the-art marinas, stylish waterfront restaurants, cosy bars and active waterways, Docklands has plenty to offer.

Covering 200 hectares of land and water, Docklands comprises nine distinct but interlinked precincts, mainly being developed by the private sector. It offers a dynamic blend of residential, commercial, retail and leisure components.

So what can you do at Docklands? A lot of fun things for everyone, any age!! There's a wide range of family attractions like Wonderland Fun Park, Monkey Mania (indoor play centre) and Black Light Mini Golf.

For shopaholics or mommies who would want to shop but stuck with crazy sreaming kids, you can shop at Harbour Town & drop your kids at a play centre. Plus, there's a Costco behind Harbour Town.

For sports & music freaks, Etihad Stadium is always full with events.

And there's, Waterfront Dining - filled with countless of restaurants, cafes and eateries.

Oh, and you can live here if you have AUD$700 above per week to spare.

To get here, there's 43 trams that you can take from the city. The best choice is you're a tourist, take the City Circle tram (number 35) from anywhere in the city. It's brown colour & looks different from the normal tram & it's free (it travels around the cbd, just hop on and hop off as you wish). If you're not a tourist like me, tram 86 & 70 will get you there.

So, now we shall let Dame Edna lead our journey to Docklands...

don't you love the scenery
how i wish i live here
yeah, i wish too!

Now we shall set our foot across the road from waterfront city piazza, let's go shopping at Harbour Town! When I was in Perth for my studies, Harbour Town was the only discounts outlet available, sadly no DFO. I've always managed to buy something when I go to Harbour Town hehe. You get real cheap deals, cheap clothes selling for $5-$10. Somehow, Melbourne's Harbour Town doesn't excite me as much as DFO hehe. This outlet also have apartments for visitors to rent (not too sure) as I don't see people staying just yet, and part of the shops here are still vacant.
